The Web Design and Technologies Certificate provides students with the skills necessary to design, deploy and maintain a website. The student will create web pages using a popular software-authoring tool, as well as utilizing various markup languages. In addition, students will work with images and graphics using industry standard software to create visual content demonstrating the principles of design.  Lastly, the material covers the information tested for the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) certification exam.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Web Design and Technologies Certificate program, the graduate will be able to:
  1. Create visual content using industry standard design software.
  2. Analyze and apply the principles of design to graphics and images.
  3. Explain the infrastructure of the Internet.
  4. Create websites using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  5. Describe the required competencies of a Certified Internet Web Professional.
  6. Develop responsive websites for use on multiple devices.
  7. Explain the application of computer networking principles such as the OSI model and communication protocols.
