Physics, Associate in Science
Total Program Credits: 60
A physics degree focuses on the nature and properties of energy and matter, covering topics like mechanics, heat, light, radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and more, preparing graduates for physics degree jobs in fields like science, engineering, healthcare, education, and more. Students interested in Astronomy should also pursue this pathway.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Associate in Science Degree (Physics) emphasis, the graduate will be able to:
• develop a plan to collect data for a physical laboratory;
• analyze the laboratory experiment they conducted;
• apply the principles of the scientific method in design of a laboratory;
• solve through analysis, setup, and planning a descriptive problem in physics;
• evaluate equations of physics to determine their application; and
• use appropriate tools and technology for purposes of conducting experimentation in physics.
