The Truck Engine Repair Certificate is designed for students who are interested in becoming an Engine Technician.  An introduction to engine overhaul, principles, R&R procedures, measurement and adjustments of the engine subsystems, as well as electric starting, charging, batteries, fuel injection and after treatment systems.  Upon successful completion of the program, students should be able to pass the ASE T-1, T-2, and T-6 certifications.   

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Truck Engine Repair Certificate program, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate industry knowledge through safety OSHA, EPA practices and procedures.
  2. Apply appropriate industry systematic approaches when diagnosing engine problems or concerns.
  3. Recognize engine problems based on classroom theory and lab practices.
  4. Label and explain engine components along with tolerances and application.
