Center for Access and Accommodative Services (CAAS)
The Center for Access and Accommodative Services (CAAS) provides academic accommodations and accessibility services for students who have a documented medical concern and/or disability. Examples of accommodations and services include sign language interpreters, testing accommodations, note taking assistance, adaptive equipment or classroom accessibility. Students must submit their application through the CAAS electronic record system and include documentation of their disability. Examples of disability documentation include an IEP or 504 plan from a high school, or documentation from a licensed professional who provides them care. Student must complete an intake with a staff member who will assist the student with activating their accommodations for the semester. Accommodations are not retroactive so students are encouraged to apply for accommodations at least three weeks before the semester starts.
Students should contact CAAS at caas@triton.edu, in Room A-105 or by phone at (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3917.
Services for All Registered Students
CAAS provides a license at no cost to all registered students for audio transcription software and text to speech software. Students interested in obtaining access to either software should contact CAAS for access. Audio transcription software must be renewed each semester by submitting a request form to CAAS. All requests can be submitted at caas@triton.edu, faxed to (708) 456-0991 or brought to Room A-105. Staff may be contacted at (708) 456-0300, Ext. 3917.
