MAT 180 Introduction to Data Science (Effective 1/18/27)
This course iIntroductiones to the principles of data science with an emphasis on mathematical reasoning, statistical analysis, and the responsible use of data in society. Students will cCollect, visualize, and interpret data; apply descriptive and inferential statistical methods; and develop models for prediction. Topics include variability, randomness, sampling, correlation, and regression. Students will use tTechnology will be utilized to analyze real-world datasets and communicate results. No prior programming experience is required.
