HVAC Installation Assistant Certificate

The HVAC Installation Assistant Certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in the HVAC/R industry. This program provides foundational skills in HVAC systems through hands-on training in safety, basic electricity, and fundamental heating and cooling systems. Students complete OSHA safety training, earn EPA refrigerant certification, and develop essential troubleshooting skills for basic residential systems. The curriculum covers basic electrical circuits, controls, cooling systems, and heating systems. Graduates are prepared for entry-level support positions in HVAC/R installation, maintenance, and basic service.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the HVAC Installation Assistant Certificate, the student will be able to:
- Apply fundamental safety practices and OSHA requirements during HVAC installation operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment, safe handling of tools, and hazard identification.
- Perform basic installation procedures of residential HVAC systems, including proper techniques for piping, electrical connections, and system components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Demonstrate foundational technical skills including basic electrical wiring, copper tubing preparation, and proper use of hand and power tools in HVAC installation tasks.
