Building upon the HVAC Installation Assistant Certificate, the HVAC Installation Technician Certificate provides advanced training for comprehensive HVAC/R service and maintenance careers. Students develop in-depth knowledge of complex electrical systems, advanced cooling and heating technologies, and achieve multiple industry certifications. The program emphasizes advanced troubleshooting techniques, system analysis, and preventive maintenance procedures for residential HVAC/R systems. Graduates are prepared for careers as HVAC/R service technicians, system technicians, and maintenance technicians, with the skills to diagnose and repair complex heating and cooling systems.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Heating and Cooling Technician Certificate, students will be able to:

  1. Design and implement comprehensive installation plans for complex HVAC systems, including proper sizing, equipment selection, and system layout for both residential and light commercial applications.
  1. Execute advanced installation procedures including complex electrical systems, programmable controls, and multiple system configurations while ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards.
  2. Perform detailed system performance evaluations and commissioning procedures on newly installed HVAC systems, including proper testing, balancing, and optimization of system operation.
  3. Integrate modern HVAC technologies including high-efficiency systems, direct digital controls, and smart thermostats during installation processes while maintaining proper documentation and customer communication.
