PSY 228 Psychology of Adulthood and Aging ◊ #
An integration of theory and empirical research and practical applications, as they relate to the study of changes in the biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial domains of development, including early, middle, and late adulthood, with attention given to the continuity of development from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Emphasis is placed on the normal and pathological changes associated with aging, along with the problems confronted by the aged, which include sensation and perception, learning and memory, intelligence, creativity and wisdom, personality, emotions and motivation, generational relationships, work and leisure, social support, long-term care, and death and dying.
