The Engineering Technology/Robotic Welding Certificate is designed to provide occupational education in Automated Robotic Welding, and related skills, CNC plasma cutting and AutoCAD, a software product used to develop the at patterns sent to a CNC plasma to cut. The curriculum provides students with experience in set up, programming and operation of robotic welding focused automated systems. In addition, students will be prepared for certification as required by employment in the robotic welding industry. Employment opportunities available include welder, robotic welder technician, inspector, production welder in manufacturing and preparation for apprenticeships and union programs.

Please Note: Courses may be taken out of semester sequence to accommodate your schedule, as long as the required prerequisite has been successfully completed.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Engineering Technology/Robotics Welding Certificate, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate safety practices with tools and equipment.
  2. Produce arc welds in the flat and horizontal positions using MIG welding processes.
  3. Demonstrate use of basic math skills to facilitate technical competencies.
  4. Use AutoCAD to draw two-dimensional production drawings.
  5. Create and troubleshoot robotic welding programs.
  6. Create and troubleshoot CNC Plasma programs.
