Grants
Grants are monies that do not have to be repaid. Students who complete the FAFSA, or Alternative Application, are applying for all federal and state based grants. The Federal Pell Grant can be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, and other educational expenses.
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) Monetary Award Program (MAP) Grant may be used to pay in-district tuition and fees.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is awarded to the highest need students also receiving the Federal Pell Grant. SEOG can be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, and other educational expenses.
To be considered enrolled in a course for financial aid purposes; you must be registered in the course before the 50 percent refund period for the class concludes. Students may retake courses as often as desired; however, financial aid will only cover the cost of a repeated course once and after a course has been successfully completed.
