Have a passion for photography? Learn how to take your skills to the next level. Triton College’s Digital Photography program prepares you to enter the field of photography. In this innovative program, you work with practicing artist-educators to explore the artistic and technical components of digital photography. Throughout the program, you will learn how to operate a dslr camera using manual settings, edit images using Adobe CC software, create professional images using natural, strobe and continuous lighting, develop your eye by exploring the compositional elements of design, and learn the fundamentals of digital video and video editing. For the capstone project you will create a portfolio of your images to be used for self-promotion. Additionally, the AAS degree contains general education courses for students who wish to transfer to a four-year school.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Associate in Applied Science Digital Photography Degree program, the graduate will be able to:

  • demonstrate technical proficiency to industry standards using both natural and artificial lighting;
  • demonstrate technical proficiency to industry standards using professional photographic equipment;
  • demonstrate technical proficiency to industry standards using image editing software;
  • create images using design principals; and
  • create a professional portfolio meeting industry standard.
