Truck Drive Train Repair Certificate
Total Program Credits: 26
The Truck Drive Train Repair certificate program is designed to provide the student with skills necessary to become a technician and seek entry-level employment as a drive train specialist. Instruction includes modern drive train components for automatic and manual transmissions, foundation brakes, final drives, and transmission retarders. Upon completion of the program, students should be able to pass ASE T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4, and T-6 certification.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Truck Drive Train Repair Certificate, the graduate will be able to:
- demonstrate industry knowledge through safety, ASE, OSHA, and EPA practices and procedures;
- diagnose transmission related concerns based classroom theory and laboratory practices;
- explain others the most appropriate procedure to follow when removing, diagnosing, replacing or repairing a transmission assembly; and
- use the most appropriate scan tool to diagnose a manual or automatic transmission.
